Network Support and Telecommuting

Tampa technology companies

If you don’t have an in-house IT team, you’re probably looking for a network support service to provide monitoring, security, and other vital business solutions. When you own or manage a business that allows or encourages telecommuting, then you may be more inclined to have outside technical support.

Whether a business is small, medium, or large, many employees welcome the opportunity to work remotely some or all of the time. In fact, some employees and employers have found that this can increase productivity.

A recent survey showed that 67% of remote workers believed they were more productive, while 26% were neutral on this matter. It is interesting to note that only 7% felt that they were less productive when working remotely.

The percentage of companies that allow employees to work remotely does vary. A recent poll on this topic was conducted with several small, medium, and large companies. It was found that 62% of small companies offered employees this option, while 38% did not make this option available.

Over half, or 55%, of medium companies allowed their employees to work remotely. This option was not available with 45% of these companies. It appears that fewer medium-sized companies encourage their employees to work remotely.

Large companies, however, provide their employees with more opportunities to work remotely. The poll found that 69% of these companies allowed employees to work on a remote basis when compared with 31% that did not. A 2013 study found that 2 out of 3 large companies allowed occasional telecommuting, which was approximately twice as much as 8 years earlier.

Whether you encourage your employees to work remotely some of the time, all of the time, or not at all, having effective network support is vital to daily business operations. When you outsource your IT services, these professionals will provide network monitoring, network security, and troubleshooting. They will also be able to provide regular system maintenance, network upgrades, and data analysis.

If you aren’t sure what type of network support you need now or anticipate needing in the future, why not make an appointment with an IT consulting firm today? They will be able to provide you with expert business solutions for your in-house and telecommuting employees.
